Screening of the animated films

We present the awarded films of International Animated Film Festival Animator in Poznań (2019), in the following categories: international short film and international feature film.

Set I

Audience Award for The Best Feature Film
Milorad Krstić, Hungary - "Ruben Brandt, collector", 95 min
Ruben Brandt, a famous psychotherapist, is forced to steal 13 paintings from the world's most famous museums and private collections. He does this to avoid the nightmares that plague him over the subliminal messages he suffered as a child. He and his gang of thieves regularly and successfully rob places like the Louvre, Tate, Uffizi, Hermitage, MoMA.

Set II

Films of PJAIT students in Warsaw, 57 min
Review of short films by students of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, collected in recent years. Among the selected productions there are, among others, drawing and puppet animations, generative visualizations, short feature films and films made in 3D - as a whole, presenting a wide range of skills of students and graduates of the Academy.
The selection was previously shown at the Muranów Cinema in Warsaw, during the closing event of the Animation Week organized by and at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in May this year. Animation Week was a collection of workshops and lectures by international guests, such as Quay Brothers, Andrzej Klimowski, Alecos Papadatos, Enzo Gentile and Babis Alexiadis.

The Silver Pegasus
Natalia Mirzoyan - "Five minutes to sea" ("Piat minut do moria"), Russia, 7’07”
A short but important event from childhood is juxtaposed with the problem of old age, the difference in perception of time, the end and the beginning of life.

The Bronze Pegasus and the Audience Award

A woman locked at home with an egg that she is both attracted to and afraid of.

Set IV

Winner of the international full-length film competition
Anja Kofmel - "Chris the Swiss" Swiss-German-Croatian-Finnish production, 90 min

Croatia, January 1992. The body of Chris, a Swiss journalist, is found mysteriously during the war in the former Yugoslavia. Anja Kofmel, his relative, admired his handsome young cousin as a girl. Being a mature woman, she decides to research his story and understand what exactly was Chris's role in this conflict.
